Open House 2010

On the crisp Saturday morning of 24 April 2010, SOTA opened her doors to welcome visitors to the first ever Open House at her sparkling new city campus at No. 1 Zubir Said Drive. Before long, the campus was teeming with activities as prospective students and their parents explored the school grounds abound with a rich array of programmes. Numerous showcases, technique demonstrations, curriculum presentations and exhibitions amongst many others were to satiate one’s eager appetite for SOTA's unique connected arts and academic curriculum, innovative teaching pedagogy and vibrant school life. The overwhelming turnout from the public of approximately 4,000 pax was met with the boundless zest of SOTA students who shared extensively with the visitors on their fascinating learning experiences at SOTA. Indeed, each SOTA student bearing traits of the SOTA values is a H.I.P leader with Passion, imbued with humility and integrity, while being passionately people-centred.

“Speaking with current students, I was able to assess the value added to children coming here - in terms of confidence, passion, knowledge and genuine interest,” enthused one visitor.

It was certainly a repertoire of learning for the visitors as they walked out of the campus with different takeaways at the end of their visits, with many affirmative of the school’s mission to create a vibrant environment for learning that is uniquely anchored in the arts, celebrating experimentation, expression and discovery, with the aim of nurturing artistic talent and developing leaders who will draw on their creativity to enrich society.
