Arts school students get to wear designer uniforms
Students in the School of the Arts get to wear uniforms designed by homegrown design guru Theseus Chan. Chan is the editor of art fashion magazine Werk and heads advertising firm Work. He also won the Designer of the Year honour at the inaugural President's Design Awards last year.

Talented pupils get bigger chance at direct entry to Sec 1
About 3,500 Secondary 1 places will be offered to pupils talented in fields like sports or the arts, under this year's Direct School Admission (DSA) scheme. Nine more secondary schools, including SOTA, have been added to the existing 47 schools that are part of the scheme.

Ideas sought for crafting national art gallery
The search is on for the best architectural and design team to transform the City Hall and former Supreme Court buildings into the National Art Gallery. Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA) Dr Lee Boon Yang said this and gave an update on SOTA at an annual dinner to thank members of MICA's various committees. 88 of the 101 students offered places at SOTA have signed up.
