Since 2006, Alice Lau has been a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance, UK. She was a ballet teacher at the Singapore Ballet Academy from 2001 to 2008 and had taught part-time at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
A former professional dancer, Alice toured extensively with the Jeune Ballet de France, before performing with the Singapore Dance Theatre till 1998. She appeared as guest artistes in A Tribute to Margot Forteyn in Portland, Oregon and performed at the opening of the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan. Alice’s accolades comprised finishing as a finalist in the Digital Genée Award Competition for two consecutive years and winning the Best Junior Couple in the IV USA International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Mississippi.
Equally as consummate as her ballet is her flair for playing the piano. Alice graduated with the ARCT Performance Diploma from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and was an accompanist at the Singapore Ballet Academy for two years before embarking on her dance-teaching career.
