
Mei Sing began dancing under the tutelage of Goh Soo Khim, Carol Ainsworth and Anthony Then at the Singapore Ballet Academy (SBA). A scholar of SBA and the Singapore Dance Theatre (SDT), she went on to become an apprentice in 1991. In 1992, she was awarded the Shell Centenary Scholarship for the Arts for her studies at the prestigious Australian Ballet School.
Mei Sing returned to Singapore in January 1995 to practice as a dancer with SDT. She has since taken on lead and other roles including Clara in Anthony Then's The Nutcracker, one of the step-sisters in Graham Lustig's Cinderella, as Pigtails in the Graduation Ball and the lead white in Goh Choo San's Double Contrasts. Mei Sing has also performed featured roles in Jiri Kylian's Stamping Ground and Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen, Jan De Schynkel's She Eats As He Eats, Val Caniparoli's Lambarena, Marius Petipa's Paquita, Natalie Weir's Dark Lullaby, and Thierry Malandains Sextet among others. She was Rehearsal Assistant for several of SDT's Classical productions. In 2003 Mei Sing hosted the Arts Central dance series ‘Go tutu Go'.
Mei Sing has since retired from dancing. She is a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance and teaches at the Singapore Ballet Academy. She has freelanced at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and Jitterbugs, Singapore. She participated in some dance projects; namely the Festival of Arts (2006) and later at the 8th Asian Festival of Dance held in Beijing. Mei Sing has been invited to be the external assessor for both NAFA and LaSalle College of the Arts Dance Faculty. In 2007, she was also appointed as external assessor for Dance for the National Arts Council.
