Khairol graduated from the Nanyang Technological University in 1996 with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Mathematics and Experiential Education). He has more than ten years of experience in the Education Service and taught in Princess Elizabeth Primary School and Naval Base Secondary School prior to his appointment as Head of Physical Education in SOTA. Khairol is passionate about the pursuit of outdoor activities and sports and his years of service included a stint in the Ministry of Education’s Co Curricular Activities Branch as an Outdoor Education Specialist.
Khairol is an avid adventurer who had participated and led numerous adventure and service learning expeditions. He was an executive member and trainer with the Singapore Adventure Leaders Council. The council provides tropical mountain leadership training that is accredited by the Union Internationale des Associations d’Alpinisme (UIAA), the International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation.
Khairol believes that SOTA students’ participation in Experiential Education reinforces positive behaviours that will contribute to a vibrant and creative learning environment.
