Koh Mei Giet graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a degree in Arts, majoring in Economics and Social Work. She went on to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Mathematics and Physical Education).

Prior to SOTA, she taught at National Junior College (NJC). During her stint at NJC, she was the teacher in charge of the soccer team and touch rugby team.

An avid athlete, Mei Giet has been involved in different sports since young. She represented NUS in basketball and soccer. She was also the captain of the NUS soccer varsity team in one of the four years she represented NUS. In 2008, she was selected to represent Singapore in the Asian Rugby Football Union Women Rugby Championship. Singapore emerged third runners-up eventually.

Mei Giet is currently pursuing a Master in Science in Exercise and Sports Studies at the National Institute of Education.
