Avril Tay holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language from the National University of Singapore.
She started her teaching career as a General Paper teacher in Nanyang Junior College in 1997, and was subsequently appointed Head of Department for Project Work in 2003. An experienced educator, she spearheaded the Project Work programme in the college, from its early years of implementation in the GCE A-Level curriculum, building up a rigorous curriculum framework for the Project Work programme in the process.
Prior to joining SOTA, Avril was posted to the Ministry of Education’s Corporate Communications Division for three years, where she worked closely with various stakeholders to communicate MOE’s policies and programmes to the public.
With her broad-based experience in the education field, Avril hopes to develop in the young a passion for knowledge which would see them through life.
