Mark Rozells took up a Singapore Government Scholarship (Teaching) in 1998 to read English Language and Literature at the University of Leeds. In 2004, He completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Education with National Institute of Education, Singapore, and taught General Paper and English Literature at Serangoon Junior College. With the team of English Literature teachers in the college, he worked to develop a love for Literature in students through drama, overseas trips and the use of Information Technology (IT). He has presented at Ministry of Education, Singapore, ExCEL Fest 2006 on the use of drama-based assessment in Literature. At the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL) Conference 2007 in Aberdeen, Scotland, he presented on the use of IT in teaching Literature.

From 2007 to 2008, Mark was a Special Project Officer in Schools Division, Ministry of Education, Singapore and subsequently headed the English Department at Greenridge Secondary School in 2009.

Mark has participated in various overseas community service projects. In 2003 and 2004, he taught English through storytelling and drama in rural schools in Isan, Thailand, under the Youth Expedition Project (YEP) and in partnership with Mahasarakham University, Thailand. He has worked with Habitat for Humanity to rebuild houses in tsunami-affected areas in Banda Aceh in 2005 and earthquake-affected areas in Jogjakarta in 2007.
