Ng Soo Nee graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts (Merit) in Economics and English Literature, before obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from National Institute of Education, Singapore. Soo Nee taught for eight years in a state school as well as an independent school before doing a Masters in English Literature in Canada in 1998. She is currently completing her PhD dissertation with Goldsmiths College, University of London, UK.

During her teaching stint at The Chinese High School (now Hwa Chong Institution), Soo Nee helped to create a series of Humanities-related electives, such as Art Appreciation, Cultural Studies, and Philosophy. It is her firm belief that one’s learning process should not be limited to mere textbooks and within the classrooms, but also to other less tangible but no less important aspects of our lives - drama, art and music, to name a couple. While at Goldsmiths College, Soo Nee has also taught undergraduate courses for two years and have presented research papers in Canada, Scotland and Britain.

After two years in Canada and four in London, Soo Nee believes that she has much to share with students in terms of both her love for books as well as life experiences. Equally, she is keen to learn from them so as to gain different perspectives of viewing the world we all live in.
