

Kong Hwee Ling earned her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Chinese from the National University of Singapore. She received her Master in Education, specialising in Human Development, from Boston University (USA) in 2003.
Prior to joining SOTA, Hwee Ling taught at River Valley High School and Raffles Girls’ School (Secondary). She was appointed as Higher Chinese coordinator since 1997 to develop lesson plans, teaching materials and assessment methods for Raffles Girls’ School (Secondary). In 2000, she was awarded the prestigious Inspiring Chinese Teacher Award. In 2004, she was also awarded the Creative Chinese Lesson Plan Award by the Ministry of Education.
In Raffles Girls’ School (Secondary), Hwee Ling was also actively involved in the character and leadership development of students. She is a certified trainer for Kouzers and Posners Leadership Challenge model. She was appointed as the Raffles Outreach Program (Service Learning) Coordinator from 2004-2005.
Hwee Ling has also presented papers in the international arena. At the Chinese Computer International Conference in 1997 and 2001, she shared with her counterparts around the world how to effectively infuse IT into the Chinese curriculum.
