After graduating from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Engineering in 1998, Yeo Lay joined Esso Singapore as a Business Analyst. One year later, she pursued her passion in teaching and earned her Post-graduate Diploma in Education (Mathematics and Science) in 2001. Prior to joining SOTA, she taught Physics at Raffles Girls’ School (RGS) for 5 years. She was also the school’s Head of Year from 2003-2005, where she was a key member in developing the character and leadership education curriculum. She received certification as a Kouzers and Posner Leadership Challenge trainer, Sexuality Education facilitator and Future Problem Solving coach.

Yeo Lay plays the piano and the guitar, and enjoys theatre. She was awarded 1st prize in the Vocal and Guitar Section of the Singapore Guitar Festival (1992). She was also a professional singer from 1998-1999 at Ark Lounge. In RGS, she initiated and spearheaded the establishment of Niibori guitar ensemble.

Yeo Lay’s broad range of experience within and beyond the education profession is invaluable in Student Care. She strongly believes that every interaction and experience shapes a child. Her goal is to enable every student to exemplify good character and strong leadership qualities.
