
Peter Sau is a pioneer graduate from the Theatre Training & Research Programme (TTRP), run as an independent division of Practice Performing Arts Centre Ltd, Singapore and has performed in local and international/festival productions. To date, he has directed Bedhaya Layar Cheng Ho, Machine, Big Fool Lee, A Madwoman’s Diary and K Metamorphosis, as well as assistant director for Herstory (a commissioned project for Singapore Arts Festival 2011).
Peter employs Western theatre approaches as well as Asian traditional art forms (Beijing Opera, Noh, Wayang Wong and Bharata Natyam) in his teaching and professional practice, working cross-culturally with Singaporean and international artists. Currently the chairman of Traditions & Editions Theatre Circus (TETC), he has produced two productions, The Spirits Play and The Juggler’s Tale, the latter commissioned by the Esplanade in 2011. Peter has been teaching theatre to adults and young people for seven years in secondary schools, junior colleges and tertiary institutions.
