Scholarship Terms and Conditions

1. The scholarships are open to all SOTA students.
2. The scholarships are tenable exclusively at SOTA and are not transferable.
3. Students may receive only one form of bursary or scholarship for fees administered by SOTA. Should a student qualify for both bursary and scholarship, the student would be offered the bursary or scholarship with the higher dollar value.
4. A scholarship from SOTA covers the school fees payable by Singapore Citizens, taking into consideration any MOE Edusave Scholarship awarded (if any). In addition, scholars will be awarded an annual allowance of $400 (Year 1-4) and $800 (Year 5-6).
5. Recipients of other full scholarships or bursaries administered by external organisations are not eligible to apply for the scholarships in SOTA, with the exception of MOE's Edusave Entrance Scholarship for Independent School (EESIS) and Singapore-MOE Award (SMA). If they are awarded the scholarship from SOTA, their remaining school fees will be covered by SOTA.
6. The scholarships are tenable for the term of study applied for, i.e. either Years 1 - 3 or Years 4-6. Students may apply for the scholarships either in Year 1 or Year 4 only.
7. For the academic year 2009, applications for Year 1 SOTA students will take place between 16 January – 16 February 2009.
8. The scholarship recipients will have their scholarships renewed annually for the length of the term of study as long as they demonstrate consistent artistic progress, meet SOTA's yearly promotion criteria and maintain good disciplinary standing.
9. Scholars are expected to demonstrate leadership and active participation in school programmes.
10. Applicants must submit applications on time. Late applications will not be entertained.
11. Scholars are not required to serve any bond.
12. Decisions of the SOTA Scholarship Committee are final.
