Germaine Cheng received her foundational training in Classical Ballet at Crestar School of Dance and Singapore Ballet Academy before pursuing a BA(Hons) degree at the Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London.
Germaine has been exposed to a vast range of techniques and styles, performing in pieces by Wayne McGregor, Kerry Nicholls, Martha Graham and Davit Fitrik. After her graduation, she has performed with local dance company RAW Moves. She was also a finalist in the 5th edition of Sprouts, a local national choreographic competition, in which she received the award for Best Dancer.
In addition, Germaine was one of the selected few mentored by leading dance critics in the UK while writing for Resolution! Review, published by The Place in London. Her writing has since been published on various arts websites and journals globally, and she is also currently a freelance dance reviewer for The Straits Times.
