A recipient of the Singapore National Arts Council Scholarship (Overseas) and Peggy Hawkins Scholarship Fund Award, Chia Poh Hian graduated from London Contemporary Dance School with First Class Honours in Contemporary Dance. Previously a dance artist with The Human Expression(T.H.E) Dance Company, she toured and performed at both local and international venues across Europe and Asia, collaborating across disciplines at festivals such as the City of London Festival, Beijing Dance Festival, and Yokohoma Dance Collection. Drawing from her experiences under the guidance of artists Chisato Ohno, Rick Nodine, Iratxe Ansa, Kim Jae Duk & Kuik Swee Boon, Poh Hian continues to explore the sensibilities of the human body, mind, and spirit.

Embarking on creative processes to experiment, research, and grow, Poh Hian actively choreographs and relishes in meaningful exchanges. She has created works for the students of NTU’s Contemp{minated}, The School of Dance (TSOD) & School of the Arts, Singapore and presented her creations at the M1 Contact Contemporary Dance Festival Open Stage & T.H.E’s New Vision.

Having studied and taught at SOTA previously, Poh Hian now hopes to move the bodies, hearts, and minds of the community, empowering each other to live, laugh and love a little more each day.
