Kim Clarete, a native of the Philippines, received her Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication from the University of the Philippines, Diliman in 2012 and her Master’s degree in Dance from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2017.
While at Tisch, Kim had the privilege of working with renowned names in the industry such as Giada Ferrone, Jeremy Nelson, Rashaun Mitchell, Phyllis Lamhut and Pamela Pietro. She has also worked with choreographer Ori Flomin in his work Together, Together, as well as with choreographer Crystal Pite and her company, Kidd Pivot, in the US premiere of her acclaimed work, Polaris. In her last year of graduate school, she also co-produced Mosaic, an event that featured interactive performances and art installations inspired by works of timeless female artists across the world.
Kim has performed in and choreographed for international showcases in Japan, Chicago, Hawaii and New York, as well as several outreach concerts in the Philippines. She is also an accredited and registered teacher with the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet.
