Silvia is the Associate Artistic Director of T.H.E Second Company, the youth training company of T.H.E Dance Company (T.H.E). She is also one of the founding members of T.H.E, and has performed in most of the company’s works since its establishment in September 2008.


Trained in Contemporary Dance and Chinese Classical Dance, Silvia’s career began with the People’s Association Dance Company in 1990. She was a principal dancer with Odyssey Dance Theatre in Singapore from 2000 to 2004. Silvia has also been invited to work with local and regional dance companies and artists including the Arts Fission Company (Singapore), ECNAD (Singapore), E-Side Modern Dance Company (Hong Kong), and "Xin" Dance Workshop (Malaysia).


She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Dance Education and Training from the London Contemporary Dance School, as well as a Masters of Arts in Contemporary Dance under the NAC Arts Bursary awarded by the National Arts Council of Singapore.

In addition to teaching at School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA), Silvia has taught at National University of Singapore Dance Synergy and Anderson Junior College Dance Society, and has lectured part-time at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).


Silvia is also the creator of several original works on a collaborative basis in Singapore namely "Simple Trouble" (1993), "Simple Trouble II" (1995) and in Malaysia, "Beyond the Window" (2002). Her choreographic works received Gold with Honours at the Singapore Youth Festival (2005, 2007 & 2009) and the 21st Century International Dance Festival in West Malaysia, and received the 1st degree award in Contemporary Dance at the Barcelona Dance Award 2010 in Spain.
