Evon Wong graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a Diploma in Mass Communication, before pursuing a Bachelor of Science (Education) with a Diploma in Education at the National Institute of Education.


Having taught at her previous school for eight years before joining SOTA, Evon has been active in the inter-school basketball scene by taking on the role of Overall Teacher-in-Charge for her school’s team, assisting in convening for the National Interschool Basketball Championships, as well as taking on the role as Venue Manager for Basketball for the ASEAN School Games (ASG) in 2011 and 2017. She has also accompanied youth basketball teams overseas in her role as the Assistant Coach for the ASG in 2012, 2013 and 2016, and has volunteered with the Basketball Association of Singapore as the Team Manager for the National Youth Under-16 Basketball Teams. Through Evon's involvement in the sport both as a player since she was in primary school to taking on various roles as a teacher, she believes that participation in sports can help one to develop positive values and forge great bonds amongst those who participate in it.


Evon also enjoys hiking and being in the outdoors as she believes that much can be learnt through reflecting on such experiences and that it is important for us to take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life to reconnect with the simplicity and beauty of nature.
