As one of a handful of shortlisted candidates for the Very Singer Training Course, organised by local record powerhouse Ocean Butterflies Music Pte Ltd, Elaine belongs to the prestigious 1998 batch that saw the rise of fellow course mates JJ Lin and A Do.

An active singer-songwriter, Elaine is a Full Member with the Composers and Authors Society of Singapore (COMPASS) and has released a Jazz album featuring all her original songs. She also plays various musical instruments such as the piano, clarinet and violin.
