Honda graduated from Taiwan Tsing Hua University (國立清華大學) in Chinese Language and Chinese Literature. He later pursued a postgraduate Diploma in Education at Nanyang Technological University, where he graduated with Distinction. With a passion for Performing Arts, Honda took up Singapore Media Academy's Diploma in Acting (Chinese) and received the Outstanding Student Award. To enhance his teaching pedagogy, he pursued a Master of Education with Monash University, Australia.
While studying in Taiwan, Honda was a host for children's programmes and also a Mandarin teacher for foreigners. Honda is a qualified teacher in Singapore and Certified Teacher of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (CTCSOL) (国际汉语教师证) by the China Government.
Prior to joining SOTA, Honda taught Chinese Language in mainstream secondary schools. He took up the role of Subject Head of Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) where he oversaw the CCE programme and actively engaged with external institutions to organise community activities. As a Chinese Language teacher, Honda's passion is in designing integrated lessons with Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and drama to engage learners. He has also presented his research papers on various sharing platforms and at conferences.
Honda believes in holistic education and aims to integrate drama into his classroom.
