Kum Meng Dee

Meng Dee graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Chinese Studies, and thereafter obtained her Post-Graduate Diploma in Education at the National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore. Prior to joining SOTA, she taught both lower and upper secondary Chinese for five years at Fajar Secondary School and then the Singapore Sports School. She has also undergone International Baccalaureate’s specialised training in teaching Chinese and in guiding students for their Extended Essays.
At Fajar Secondary School, Meng Dee was level coordinator and IT manager in her department. She was also in charge of the school’s symphonic band and pioneered the school’s Singapore–China School Twinning Programme.
At the Singapore Sports School, Meng Dee's responsibilities included being level coordinator in her department and mentor to the secondary one table tennis players.
Meng Dee has cultivated a deep passion for the arts, having been actively involved in the Chinese Orchestra since junior high school, and in a cappella, xinyao and Chinese drama in her varsity years.
