Thomas obtained his Diploma in Fine Art (Ceramics) with Distinctions at LASALLE College of the Arts in 2002. He received his Master of Art in Fine Art (Ceramics) in 2014 from Tainan National University of the Arts in Taiwan.
Since then, he has been actively involved in art education and has taught art enrichment workshops in more than 150 schools. Prior to joining SOTA, he was teaching at LASALLE College of the Arts and facilitating training workshops at Contemporary Clay Studio.
As an artist, Thomas has participated in many international exchange and residency programs such as the International Ceramic Mentoring Camp in Gyeonggi Ceramic Biennale, Korea, Sexse - Southeast Asia Exchange in Medelta, Canada and Artic-Clay residency program in Posio, Finland. In 2012, he was invited to work for six months as a guest exchange artist at College of the Ozarks in Missouri, USA.
He has also exhibited internationally and regionally and his works are in the collection of several public museums and corporate companies.
He is a recipient of Georgette Chen Arts Scholarship in 2000 and has received a silver award in a ceramics competition organized by Yingge Ceramics Museum in Taiwan.
