We celebrate the outstanding achievements of our alumni as they forge their paths in their chosen fields and continue to excel and reach new heights.

Class of 2020 alumna Chia Shu-En Stephanie is one of 168 freshmen at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCSM) this year. Reflecting on her time at SOTA, Stephanie chats with us about how her Visual Arts training has helped her strive to understand human emotion and connections while also providing useful analytical skills.

We caught up with Class of 2019 Visual Arts alumna Tan Shao Qi and her mother, Ms Jaslin Poh, to find out how they felt exhibiting together for the first time and organising the exhibition during the pandemic.

A key trait of our SOTA community is a strong collaborative spirit. Visual Arts alumni Lee Lip Jiang (2013), Darryl Tan (2015), and Rebecca Chong (2017) have reunited as Architecture students at NUS, and joined their creative energies to launch the exhibition, ArchiVal.

It's an all-SOTA ensemble in the nuSTUDIOS Film Productions' Point & Shoot 2020: 55-hour short film challenge with Andre Chong (Theatre, 2017), Nigel Cheung (Film, 2018), Coco Wang Ling (Theatre, 2018), Nicholas Papayoanou (Theatre, 2018), and John Ryan Yeo (Film, 2019).

Featuring ten established and emerging artists, including our Visual Arts faculty member Mr Jason Lim and alumna Tan Shao Qi (2018), the 'Playing with Paper: Intimacies & Possibilities' exhibition explored how the participating artists portray profound intimacies and vast possibilities on paper.

We are proud to see Victoria Chen (Theatre, 2012) helming a new production under Wild Rice's Directors' Residency Programme!

Class of 2012 Visual Arts alumna Daisy Toh's latest series, 'To Return From Sojourn' is exhibited as part of this year's ION Young Talent Programme. Congratulations!

Local Malay newspaper Berita Harian featured SOTA alumnae siblings Safiah Noorhimli (Visual Arts, 2016), Maryam Noorhimli (Theatre, 2018) and Sarah Noorhimli (Visual Arts, 2019) with their supportive parents in November. We also congratulate Sarah on receiving the Lembaga Biasiswa Kenangan Maulud (LBKM) scholarship earlier in September!
