Continuum by Ms Jodi Cheung and Mr Leroy Sofyan

Congratulations to Visual Arts faculty members Ms Jodi Cheung and Mr Leroy Sofyan on their exhibition, Continuum! Held from 21 June - 5 July 2018, this project in progress is a humorous look at the daily grind. The work tries to express a repetitive life, which is at times mundane and trivial. The artists manipulated the aesthetic language of insignificant objects and scenarios by stripping and adding, and repurposed narratives in the found object, incorporating movement. Familiar objects are reframed to invite self-reflection and social symbols are recasted, to evoke a deeper questioning into the intrinsic compromise that is needed in the pursuit of life in Singapore.
