In January 2019, SOTA was proud to host American actress and artist Lucy Liu in school for a dialogue with our young aspiring Year 2 Theatre students. Moderated by our very own Mr Sean Tobin, Head of Theatre, the dialogue delved into Lucy's journey as both an actress and artist and how she got to be where she is today.

It was inspiring to hear her rich experiences and how she overcame challenges along the way. Our students had the opportunity to ask Lucy questions and were left with a multitude of takeaways.

To thank her for her time, two of Lucy's biggest fans from SOTA presented her with a gift on behalf of the school - a canvas print of a past SOTA Theatre production.

Lucy was in Singapore to launch her exhibition "Unhomed Belongings" in partnership with Shubigi Rao from Singapore. The exhibition was co-presented by the National Museum of Singapore and the Ryan Foundation with the support of the U.S. Embassy Singapore.

SOTA is grateful to The Ryan Foundation for making this possible.
