Drawing Out is an annual exhibition featuring the multi-disciplinary talents of SOTA Year One and Two Visual Arts students in a variety of media such as drawing, painting, ceramics and sculpture. They investigate the nature of the materials used and express learnt techniques through painting, dry media, coiling, modelling and carving.

The concept behind the title of the exhibition “Drawing Out” began 10 years ago. It was driven by the idea of identifying the artistic potential in every student and guiding them to discover their strengths through a self-reflective process. Such self-discovery is encouraged to allow students to aspire towards self-mastery in their skills and also to gain confidence in materialising their ideas into a final form through the art-making process.

From 13 October 2021, SOTA will be implementing vaccination-differentiated safe management measures (VDS) in line with national guidelines. Please note that only the following persons will be allowed entry to the SOTA Gallery (in group sizes up to 2 pax):

  1. Fully vaccinated individuals
  2. Children aged 12 years and below (if there is more than one child aged 12 years and below in the group of 2 persons, both children must be from the same household)
  3. Recovered individuals
  4. Unvaccinated individuals with a negative pre-event test (PET) result

We regret that we will not be allowing entry to persons who do not meet any of the above criteria.
