Kong Pei Ling graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with Bachelor of Arts (Honours), majoring in Psychology. She went on to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Physical Education and Geography) at the National Institute of Education, Singapore.
Pei Ling has a passion for sports. Not only was she a school badminton player, she also participated in wakeboarding and was part of the NUS Sports Club Executive Committee. She advocates experiential learning through sports and the outdoors as it allows students to go through a process of self-discovery, fostering resilience and ruggedness among youths. Furthermore, she believes that experiential education also develops the youths both as an individual as well as a team player, which is pertinent in today’s dynamic society.
Apart from sports, Pei Ling is also deeply involved in the arts as a dancer. She took up ballet classes at the tender age of four and subsequently continued her training in Chinese classical dance, Chinese ethnic folk dance and modern dance. Since then, she has taken part in various dance examinations, courses, performances and competitions both locally and abroad. In 2002, she represented Singapore in the Liverpool International Theatre Festival in Canada where she won an individual award for her role as “Lady Green” in the musical dance, Legend of Madam White Snake.
