Zhao Guang Pu obtained his Diploma of Education (Chinese Language) from the National Institute of Education and is currently pursuing an advanced degree in Translation and Interpretation at Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) University. Guang Pu studied Chinese Language and Literature at Sichuan University and holds a Diploma of Engineering (Electrical) at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Guang Pu taught in Singapore from 2005 to 2009. In 2006, he planned and led a Chinese cultural immersion trip to Chengdu, China. In 2008, he joined the Red Cross as a volunteer to engage in restorative and counselling work with victims of the Sichuan earthquake. In the same year, Guang Pu was selected to participate in a prestigious service learning training programme for teachers held in Yunnan, China, and organised by the Ministry of Education.

Guang Pu has published a series of Chinese comic books titled "七彩花" for young children, with the aim of aiding them in the learning of Mandarin. He hopes to inspire and help his students to be proficient in both English and Mandarin.
