Sim Kang Chong

Sim Kang Chong has been teaching Mathematics at the School of the Arts since 2009, covering all levels from foundation years to the International Baccalaureate (IB). As the level coordinator for IB Mathematics Approaches and Analysis (MAASL), he leads efforts to review and develop assessments that meet IB standards.

Before joining SOTA, Kang Chong worked as an instructional designer, where he was responsible for conceptualising and leading a team to developing multimedia Mathematics courseware. He also taught Engineering Mathematics at a polytechnic, which allowed him to blend practical application in his current teaching practice.

Beyond education, Kang Chong is an Associate Member of the Composers and Authors Society of Singapore (COMPASS), showcasing his creative interests outside the classroom.

In addition to his professional work, Kang Chong is passionate about running. His dedication to the sport is driven by the support and friendships he has cultivated within the running community. For him, running provides both personal fulfillment and a sense of connection. He also contributes to the local running scene by serving as a pacer in major races, giving back to the community that encourages him.
