Wang Di holds a Master of Arts in Chinese Studies from the National University of Singapore and a Bachelor of Arts in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from Harbin Normal University. She has over a decade of experience teaching Chinese language and taking on leadership roles in bilingual education and curriculum development across primary and secondary levels in IB schools.
Throughout her career, Di has been passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that connect language, culture, and real-world contexts. Before joining SOTA, she served as an IB PYP Bilingual Coordinator, Grade Level Lead, and MYP/DP Teacher, where she led initiatives to strengthen bilingual learning and designed inquiry-driven experiences that encouraged students to communicate confidently, think critically, and appreciate diverse perspectives. Her teaching experience includes bilingual education, Chinese Language Acquisition, Chinese Language and Literature, Individuals and Societies, and Chinese Theory of Knowledge.
Di believes that language learning extends beyond acquiring linguistic skills, it is a gateway to understanding cultures, building empathy, and developing meaningful connections with others. She strives to create student-centred learning environments where students feel supported and empowered to take ownership, express their ideas, and construct their own learning journeys.
The arts have also been an important part of Di’s own journey. Having learnt piano and vocal singing from a young age, she continues to explore dance as a form of creative expression. Deeply committed to the transformative power of the arts, Di has also served as a Chinese Drama Production Lead, working closely with directors and students to develop and stage performances. Through drama, she nurtures students’ creativity, collaboration, confidence, and sense of agency, providing opportunities for them to explore human experiences and connect with others through storytelling.
