Synopsis:
William Golding’s Lord of the Flies, adapted for the stage by Nigel Williams, follows a group of British schoolboys stranded on a desert island after a plane crash, who must fend for themselves without adult supervision. The play explores whether chaos will overcome humanity or if rescue can arrive in time to save them from their increasingly primitive and violent behaviour, serving as a powerful allegory about the thin veneer of civilisation and the dark potential within human nature when social structures collapse.
