Impact is a fundraising show organised by SOTA. Each year, Impact seeks inspiration from a renowned Singaporean artist who has played a crucial role in shaping the local arts and cultural scene.

Impact 2026 celebrates the enduring legacy of Mr Kuo Pao Kun, one of Singapore’s most influential theatre practitioners. His bold, humanistic works transcended language and cultural boundaries, sparking dialogue and shaping generations of artists. The show this year invites audiences to journey alongside Mei, a curious young seeker, as she tries to uncover the meaning of art. Through original music and dance, Mei discovers and learns truths about what art means to her. Mei’s story is interwoven with excerpts from Mr Kuo Pao Kun’s plays of Lao Jiu and The Silly Little Girl and The Funny Old Tree, helping to tell this story of Mei’s coming of age.

The proceeds from the sales of the tickets will go towards the SOTA Endowment Fund which provides students with bursaries, scholarships, and other forms of financial assistance.
