A Ministry of Education (overseas specialist award) scholar, Pang Jin graduated from King’s College London with a Bachelor of Music (First Class Honors). While at King’s College London, she was selected to have piano lessons with Professor Diana Ketler at the Royal Academy of Music. Jin also holds the Licentiate of the London College of Music; and the Associate of Trinity College, London. Upon graduating, she went on to obtain her Postgraduate Diploma in Education from National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore.
Jin started her teaching career at St Margaret’s Secondary School where she taught General Music and GCE ‘O’ Level music. Apart from teaching, she was the teacher-in-charge of the string ensemble and was the pianist for the school and school choir.
In her free time, Jin enjoys being a piano accompanist for choirs and playing the keyboard in a band.
Equally adept in the sporting arena, she has represented Singapore in triathlon at the Asian Triathlon Championships in 1998 and 1999 and at the Ford Ironman Triathlon World Championships in Kona, Hawaii in 2006. Currently, she takes pleasure in doing muay thai and enjoys the adrenaline rush of participating in amateur fights.
Jin hopes to use her varied experiences in music and sports to relate to and inspire the students in their journeys at SOTA.
