Recognised for her nuanced, subtle, and exploratory style as a filmmaker, Gladys Ng’s portfolio consists of award-winning short films that speaks to the heart of its audience. As a Victorian College of the Arts graduate, ASEAN-ROK Film Leaders alumnus and Cinemovement fellow, her films have competed and won awards at various film festivals such as the Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF), International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, Uppsala International Film Festival, and Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, amongst others. Her distinct sensibility as a filmmaker has also been spotlighted in The Straits Times, TODAY, Channel NewsAsia and Female Magazine.
Alongside her filmmaking career, Gladys is a dedicated arts mentor who channels her passion for storytelling into guiding and nurturing students, encouraging them to draw upon their creativity to make meaningful cultural contributions. She believes that being a creative citizen and a cultural leader means using artistic expression to lead and inspire change, and fosters that through a supportive classroom environment.
In her own time, she enjoys finding new ways to see the familiar through her lens by capturing everyday scenes that would otherwise go unnoticed.
