Sebastian Ang

Sebastian Ang graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree (Honours) in Sociology. He then attained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education (NIE) where he specialised in Social Studies and History, and subsequently pursued a master’s degree in Education (Curriculum and Teaching) from NIE.

Prior to joining SOTA, Sebastian has taught Social Studies and History to students at the secondary level. As a keen advocate for leveraging the power of technology, Sebastian was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award (Group) for his use of game-based learning pedagogies in 2019. He has also conducted sharing sessions at the school, cluster, and national levels on ways to create an immersive learning environment for students. Ultimately, Sebastian aims to nurture curiosity and creativity by integrating gamification principles into the curriculum.

With a passion for music and visual arts, Sebastian plays the drums and sketches in his free time. He has participated actively in the performing arts when he was a student and has represented his school for various competitions. By complementing the arts and humanities, Sebastian believes in nurturing well-rounded individuals who can appreciate both the beauty of the arts and the holistic understanding of the human experience.
