Rodrigues Crispin

Rodrigues Crispin spent the last seven years of his professional career teaching young minds in a junior college, where he taught English Literature, General Paper, and Knowledge and Inquiry.

In addition, he has conducted workshops at various levels for organisations such as the National Library Board and Singapore Book Council, as well as at various schools and institutions.

Apart from teaching, Crispin is the author of four collections of poetry and a co-editor of an anthology of poetry featuring then-unpublished youth poets in Singapore. His poetry, short fiction, lyric essays and book reviews have been published in a variety of anthologies, literary magazines and online journals. He has also hosted and presented at events such as the Singapore Writers Festival and National Poetry Festival (Singapore). He was also virtual writer-in-residence with the National Centre for Writing in Norwich in 2021.

Crispin graduated from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a Minor in Theatre and Performance in 2013, as well as a Masters of Arts in English Literature, also from NTU, in 2015. His research interests include modern and contemporary American Literature, Singapore Literature, the intersection between artforms, as well as creative writing pedagogy.

As a writer and an educator, Crispin strongly believes in training the next generation of literary talent to find their voice in an increasingly complex world.
