Ronald Lim graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Engineering. He went on to obtain his Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education (NIE). Before joining SOTA, Ronald taught GCE A-Level Physics at National Junior College (NJC) for four years and was one of the teachers in-charge of NJC’s symphonic band and the astronomy club. He then joined Anglo-Chinese School (International) as a pioneer teacher, where he taught for six years, building resources for teaching Physics and instructing both Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level and International Baccalaureate Physics. He also led the student council and served as the Lead Tutor for senior students, addressing their developmental and pastoral needs.
During his school days, Ronald played the trombone at The Chinese High School Military Band and Raffles Junior College Concert Band. He also performed with the NIE Symphonic Band in their annual concert.
Ronald is dedicated to developing students holistically, focusing on character building and a cohesive understanding of society and the physical world. He believes that Physics is an excellent medium for this, as it touches on nearly every aspect of life. Enthusiastic about leading the IB programme at SOTA, he values how it provides students with a broad and balanced education, equipping them to become compassionate lifelong learners.
