SOTA Gallery, Level 2, School of the Arts

VISION brings together SOTA’s Year One and Two Visual Arts students, illuminating their creative potential through drawing, painting, sculpture and ceramics. This exhibition captures a moment in each student’s artistic journey, a point where curiosity sparks ideas and ideas take form through graphite, charcoal, vibrant washes of watercolour, bold strokes of acrylic or oil, and the tactile possibilities of paper, clay, and wire.

At the heart of this showcase lies the spirit of art inquiry, ignited by one’s innate curiosity to connect and wonder. Students are encouraged to observe closely, ask thoughtful questions, and experiment fearlessly. This process-driven approach nurtures more than technical skill; it fosters imagination, critical thinking, and authentic personal expression. Through this journey of curiosity, each student begins to develop an artistic voice that reflects how they see, interpret, and respond to the world around them.

As you move through the exhibition, we invite you to encounter not just artworks, but emerging voices with each one distinct in progress. These works are markers of growth, reflections of inquiry, and glimpses into creative futures yet to unfold. VISION is a reminder that art is not a destination, but a journey of endless possibilities.
