Ashley Zhang graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree in Geography. She then attained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore.

As a teacher, Ashley has taught Geography, History and Social Studies to students from the Express and Normal education streams. She believes that the various skills and values that Humanities education imparts are important in helping students to understand the world they live in, and allow them to grow to become valuable contributors to the society. She has also undergone the International Baccalaureate's specialised training in teaching Geography.

Ashley enjoys travelling and photography during her free time. With a passion in painting, she has acquired a western art certification from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA).
