Sebastian Ang graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree (Honours) in Sociology. He then attained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the National Institute of Education (NIE) where he specialised in teaching Social Studies and History. Currently pursuing a Master of Education in Curriculum and Teaching from NIE, Sebastian believes in upskilling himself and is at the forefront of educational innovation.

Prior to joining SOTA, Sebastian has taught Social Studies and History to students at the secondary level. Believing that a good grasp of the Humanities is essential for students to foster a deep understanding of human behaviour, culture, and society, Sebastian hopes to empower every student to explore diverse perspectives and develop critical thinking skills. Awarded with the Outstanding Contribution Award (Group) for his use of game-based learning pedagogies in 2019, Sebastian is a keen advocate of leveraging the power of technology in education. He has also conducted sharing sessions at the school, cluster, and national levels on the various ways to create an immersive learning environment for students. Ultimately, Sebastian aims to nurture curiosity and creativity by integrating gamification principles into the curriculum.

With a passion for music and visual arts, Sebastian plays the drums and sketches in his free time. He has participated actively in the performing arts when he was a student and has represented his school for various competitions. By complementing the arts and humanities, Sebastian believes in nurturing well-rounded individuals who can appreciate both the beauty of the arts and the holistic understanding of the human experience.
