An alumnus of Raffles Junior College, Colin Lim holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from Nanyang Technological University. He graduated from the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information, with a major in Journalism & Publishing, and a Minor in Drama & Performance.
Before joining SOTA, Colin taught English and Literature at River Valley High School and Yuhua Secondary School. In River Valley, he was Level Coordinator and teacher-in-charge of the acclaimed Dance Society. At Yuhua, Colin was Head of Corporate Communications and the English Department’s Subject Head.
In his first job, Colin was JobsCentral Group’s Editor, leading content teams to produce editorial resources such as BrightSparks scholarship magazine.
Colin has also contributed to Singapore’s arts scene. For 12 years, he was the vocalist and lyricist of rock band King Kong Jane. The band was named Best English Local Act in The Sunday Times, and performed for events such as the Singapore Arts Festival. In 2011, it released the album Waiting For Friday.
Colin is a passionate educator who believes in the power of language to inform and inspire. He believes that every student can excel in Literature, and that the subject will help students to understand themselves and the world they live in.
