Zhang YouYou graduated from the Shanghai Normal University with a Master of Arts, majoring in Comparative Literature. He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate of Education from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.

YouYou started his teaching career at ACS Jakarta in 2007, and moved on to being a Chinese teacher in ACS International Singapore in 2012, teaching Chinese Language and Literature, Chinese Language B, Theory of Knowledge in Chinese, Extended Essay in Literature, Chinese Express, Higher Chinese, Chinese as the First Language of the O Level, IGCSE and IBDP Programme.

YouYou serves as an IBDP examiner of Chinese LAL, and TOK in Chinese since 2015. In the area of professional development, he has undergone Category 3 IBDP workshops specialised in Approaches to Teaching and Learning (ATL) and Extended Essay. He conducted IBDP Chinese LAL Job-a-like at ACS International Singapore 2016, and presented his research about “context in IBDP Chinese A curriculum” at the 5th-ISCLE conference and workshop in UWC China (Changshu) 2017.

Wanting to teach students latest information technologies led YouYou to be an Apple Distinguished Educator (Class of 2017) at Melbourne and Google Certified Educator in 2015. He also consistently shared his IT skills with colleagues. Youyou took the initiative to open Coding (Python) CCA for students of ACS International Singapore and taught Secondary one students iBook Author to create interactive books for the English Library project.

YouYou firmly believes in encouraging students’ natural curiosity with teaching and will support students in exploring the world of language and literature around them.
