Yit Siang graduated from the Nanyang Technological University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education (NIE) in 2003 where he was trained in teaching Physics, Elementary Mathematics and Additional Mathematics. He has also undergone International Baccalaureate’s specialised training in teaching Physics and in guiding students for their Creativity, Activity, Service projects.

With a strong passion for teaching, Yit Siang constantly engages his students in classroom discussions. Over the years, he has guided many groups of students in various science-based projects and helped them through their participation in national and zonal competitions such as the Youth Science Conference. Yit Siang is patient with students and is dedicated to helping students with varied abilities understand scientific concepts. He constantly seeks to explain concepts through different perspectives to enhance understanding.

Yit Siang has been playing the guitar since his Junior College days and also enjoys singing. He is an avid distance runner who has completed several marathons over the years.
