(Senior) Executive, Technical Production, Office of Technical Theatre & Production

 
This role supports the delivery of safe, high-quality performances, rehearsals, and events across school venues. The successful candidate will assist with lighting, sound, multimedia, and stage operations; provide on-site technical support during live events; and help maintain equipment and safety standards. Working closely with staff, students, and external contractors, this role plays a key part in ensuring smooth technical operations while supporting student learning and safe working practices.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with the setup, operation, and maintenance of lighting, sound, and multimedia systems for performances, rehearsals, and events.
  • Support technical rehearsals, ensuring cues, rigging, and configurations meet artistic and safety requirements.[in school venues]
  • Assist in fixing or reporting safety items (e.g. cables, stage platforms, tools, or rigging systems) to ensure compliance with risk and safety standards.
  • Provide on-site technical support during events, including live sound mixing, lighting board operation, and projection management.
  • Work with external vendors and service contractors for equipment servicing or rental.
  • Support the training and supervision of students involved in technical operations.
  • Participate in risk assessments, ensuring safe working practices in all production areas.
  • Assist in documentation, scheduling, and preparation of technical reports during and after events.

 

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or certificate in Technical Theatre, Events Technology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in technical theatre, live events, or production support.
  • Working knowledge of lighting systems (e.g. ETC, MA), sound consoles (e.g. Yamaha, Mackie..), and multimedia playback tools (e.g. QLab, Resolume).
  • Basic understanding of stage rigging, electrical safety, and risk management.
  • Strong problem-solving and hands-on technical abilities.
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays during productions or events.
