Supplementary Intake Exercise

2025 Preparation Notes and Checklist

SOTA may conduct a Supplementary Intake Exercise (SIE), subject to available vacancies, following the release of PSLE results. The SIE welcomes P6 pupils who sat for the PSLE in 2025 and who have not been admitted to a school through the DSA-Sec Exercise. Pupils who attended the Talent Academy may reapply.

Those interested in applying to SOTA via the SIE must participate in the MOE Secondary One (S1) Posting Exercise for the posting of Secondary School and Third Language (if applicable). Successful SIE applicants who accept SOTA’s offer will not be posted to another school under the S1 Posting Exercise.

Applicants opting for Third Language in the S1 Posting Exercise are eligible based on their Third Language choices.

Due to the tight timeline for SIE applications, applicants are strongly encouraged to indicate their interest online and upload the required documents during the Indication of Interest period. 

Application for SIE will be conducted via SOTA’s Talent Academy (TA) Portal.

  • The SIE may open subject to available vacancies after the release of the PSLE results
  • Application is only open to Primary 6 pupils studying in a local MOE mainstream school who took the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) in 2025 and is eligible for the Posting Group 3
  • Pupils who have been admitted to a school through the DSA-Sec exercise are not eligible to apply.
  • Application may open for selected art forms only
  • SIE application may open subject to available vacancies and may open for selected art forms only.
  • Download the 2025 Preparation Notes and Checklist.  
  • Prepare the art portfolio and supporting documents
  • You may apply for ONE (1) art form only.

You may submit your application during the Indication of Interest period so that you do not have to rush and submit your application during the actual application period if the SIE is open.

 

You may still apply during the SIE application period if you missed the Indication of Interest period. 

  • Sign up for a TA Portal Account HERE 
  • Log in to the TA Portal Account, and submit your application.
  • You will be required to upload the art portfolio and supporting documents.
  • You may apply for ONE (1) art form only.

 

*PSLE applicants who previously created a TA Portal account during the DSA-Sec Exercise and wish to apply for SIE must first email us at sa@sota.edu.sg with their full name and the email address used to create the account. The previous application must be archived before a new submission can be made. 

 

  • The PSLE Results will be released between 24 November and 26 November.
  • On the day of the release of the PSLE results:
    • Participate in S1 Posting (within 7 calendar days)

 

SIE application may open for selected art forms only. You may apply for ONE (1) art form only.

 

(a) Applicants who have submitted an Indication of Interest and qualified for Posting Group 3:

  • Submit your PSLE results
  • You are not required to submit your PSLE results if the art form that you want to apply to is not available

 

(b) Applicants who have NOT submitted an Indication of Interest and qualified for Posting Group 3:

  • Sign up for a TA Portal Account HERE 

 

*PSLE applicants who previously created a TA Portal account during the DSA-Sec Exercise and wish to apply for SIE must first email us at sa@sota.edu.sg with their full name and the email address used to create the account. The previous application must be archived before a new submission can be made. 

  • Online Application for SIE via TA Portal will close at 10 am. If you were in the middle of completing the application, you will be automatically logged off. 
  • No further extension of the deadline will be provided.
  • Log in to the TA Portal from 4 pm onwards to check your shortlisting outcome.
  • Shortlisted applicants must read the posted announcement for more information about your SIE.

 

Visual Arts applicants must attend a mass Shortlisting Activity. Please refer to the SIE Preparation Notes and Checklist for VA for more information. 

  • Shortlisted applicants must complete all SIE activities in person at SOTA. 
  • Applicants will be informed of the final outcome via e-mail. 
  • The school will not release any information explaining why an application is unsuccessful. 
  • Applicants who have received the offer must submit the Acceptance Form by the deadline provided.
  • The Acceptance Form is void if there is no written response from the applicant by 10:00 am (SGT) on the stipulated date. 

 

IMPORTANT: By accepting SOTA’s offer, the applicant will not be posted to another secondary school via the S1 Posting, as their submitted S1 school choices will be made void. For applicants who are eligible to take a Third Language, their Third Language options continue to be valid and will be processed based on their choices. Unsuccessful applicants will be posted to a secondary school based on their submitted school choices under the S1 Posting.

Important points to note:

  1. SIE will open if there is vacancy available on the day of release of PSLE results.
  2. We regret that there will be no rescheduling of audition schedules.
