Learning at SOTA
Visual ArtsSOTA’s Visual Arts programme offers a rich education in various mediums, forms, and expressions to benefit artistic and creative learners. Students will acquire the knowledge, understanding, and technical skills to enable them to create artworks in various forms such as drawing, painting, ceramics and sculptures. Through experimentation and imagination, they will learn to harness their artistic impulses for creative outcomes.
Students also gain knowledge and understanding of the formal, theoretical, and historical aspects of visual arts, and expand their analytical and critical abilities in art practice, art theory, and art history. They learn to investigate and document their reflections, interests, ideas, and art-making processes, developing a deep and comprehensive understanding of their artistic journey.
The Visual Arts International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme aims to develop students in their artistic practice by providing a robust foundation in diverse artistic techniques and creative expression; professional skills for navigating the art world, such as portfolio development and networking; and cultivate their critical thinking abilities to evaluate and interpret art and foster intellectual growth.
The Visual Arts Career-related Studies (CRS) curriculum comprises core modules and workshops designed to provide students with a holistic experience and understanding of visual arts.
