Ng Herk Siang

Teacher

Ng Herk Siang graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and English Language. He went on to complete his Postgraduate Diploma in Education with the National Institute of Education (NIE), and subsequently a master’s degree in Social Studies with NIE. He has also undergone International Baccalaureate’s specialised training in teaching History.

As an undergraduate, Herk Siang was an active volunteer and mentor to youths in the Student Mentorship Programme. His interest in working with teenagers continued during his journey as a beginning teacher, where he was the teacher-in-charge for the school’s student council and the National Cadet Corps.

Herk Siang possesses a keen interest in the arts. When he was a student, he represented the school in weiqi (also known as Go) and poetry-recital competitions. He is also an avid reader, and likes to write random musings. Herk Siang firmly believes that the arts and humanities are closely intertwined, and is dedicated to promoting this cause.
