Samantha Wong graduated from the University of Warwick with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History and Politics. She then went on to pursue a Postgraduate Diploma in Education at the National Institute of Education. Samantha has also undergone the International Baccalaureate’s specialised training in teaching History and guiding students in their Extended Essays.

Her journey as an educator began at Meridian Junior College where she taught History and Project Work. She was also actively involved in the student council as one of its teacher mentors. Samantha served as the Subject Head for History from 2011-2012, and was placed on the MOE Future Leaders Programme from 2010-2012. She took a hiatus thereafter to help set up a foundation for the Singapore Business Federation.

Since joining SOTA in 2014, Samantha has been a familiar face amongst the middle- and upper-year students. She derives great joy from being in the classroom, and strives to inspire and cultivate a lasting enthusiasm for the humanities in her students by blending traditional insights and innovative approaches. She is especially committed to creating learner-centred experiences by integrating technology and current educational trends so as to engage her students in meaningful ways.

Beyond the classroom, Samantha delights in new experiences and enjoys travelling, Lego-building, and getting lost in a good book.
