Craft Exposure/Vocational Skills

This module focuses on helping students enrich, expand, and experiment with various types of media to develop their confidence and competence to express their artistic voice and identities as emerging arts practitioners. Students will pursue a balanced approach to thinking about media, reinforcing key skills and techniques while providing a white space for crucial experimentation to build their artistic identity with confidence. Learning journeys to various art exhibitions in Singapore provide enrichment and offer practical exposure to the vibrant arts scene.

Professional Practice

This module focuses on the development of a wide range of practices and pragmatic knowledge essential for professional practice, such as drafting proposals, understanding the basis of pricing artworks, and creating and curating portfolios for various purposes. These practices will translate into professional management of workspaces, practices, and projects. Students will also develop communication skills and gain basic legal knowledge to navigate intellectual property rights and contractual agreements.

Writing and Communication Skills

This module focuses on developing various writing and communication skills. Students will be equipped to articulate effectively in both written and verbal forms. These are important skills throughout an artist’s career as they work on artist statements and exhibition reviews, present critical analyses of artworks, and attend seminar discussions which require public speaking skills.
