Mageswari graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History from National University of Singapore (NUS). She has obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from the National Institute of Education (NIE), Singapore. She has also undergone International Baccalaureate's training in teaching History.
In 2008, Mageswari started teaching at Yusof Ishak Secondary School. In 2010, she was awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award and Best Teacher Award, by the School Advisory Committee. Subsequently, she received the Outstanding History Teacher Award for top 10 Finalists, awarded by the History Association of Singapore, in 2012. After joining Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) in 2013, she received the Caring Teacher Award by the National Institute of Education and Exxon Mobil (2016).
Mageswari enjoys engaging in research, travelling, going for long walks and a delicious cup of coffee.
